About MathsByColour

We provide game-based intervention resources for primary schools, designed to build confidence with number and multiplicative reasoning in children who need extra support.

Our approach helps children notice patterns in numbers through regular, short practice sessions that are fun, visual, and manipulable - perfect for delivery by teaching assistants and non-specialist staff.

We focus on three key foundations: place value, arrays, and prime factors as the building blocks of number sense.

Who It's For

Schools looking for:

  • maths interventions for Y4-6 students
  • Resources that TAs can deliver confidently without specialist maths training
  • Game-based approaches that children engage with
  • Short-session formats (10-20 minutes) that fit busy timetables
  • Specific focus on multiplicative reasoning and number sense

Children who:

  • have basic number recognition but struggle with times tables and multiplicative thinking
  • can follow procedures with support but don't see number relationships
  • need regular practice to notice mathematical patterns
  • benefit from visual and manipulative approaches to learning

What we offer

Currently piloting: Intervention starter packs including physical materials (Prime Colours cards, practice resources), game instructions with video demonstrations, and guidance for running effective 10-20 minute sessions with small groups.
